This Kindle is functionally the same as the Kindle 2, but instead of a 6" screen, the DX has a 9.7" screen for about TWICE the screen real-estate. That means more words on screen even at the larger font sizes. And it does a better job of displaying textbooks, reference books and graphic novels. Always a plus!
