Which probably explains why there are NO donations. Oh well, I'll keep the ChipIn going, but it gets frustrating that a woman who HOLDS a job can get massive donations to get a breast enlargement but a man who WANTS to go back to work gets no help towards accomplishing this.

Sigh.

Okay, the last ChipIn closed without a single donation, so let's try this again. My new ChipIn, which by the way will go to buying a NuStep T5xr and having it shipped out to California, runs until April 4th, 2010. I really need to raise the $6,500 it will cost for the T5xr, large seat and shipping via your donations because I cannot and have not found another way to raise the funds.

Please. I just want to get down so I can go back to leading a productive life. If you just donate $10 (and get 649 of your friends, neighbors and co-workers to do the same) I can get this and do the right thing - which is to exercise my heart out until I lose 385 pounds!

I've been trying by modifying my diet and doing the weight-training that my body can currently handle, but it's not enough. I need to do two-three hours of aerobic exercise each day, and with my osteoarthritis and massive weight, I need a recumbent exercise system that can allow me to do so without risking major injuries to my legs. I'm willing to commit to the time each day, but without a T5xr, I'm risking making myself PERMANENTLY disabled long before I can reach my goal weight.

Once again I'm trying to raise funds for a NuStep T5xr. Please donate. If only 300 people donate $20 each, I'll have the funds to get one of these machines. I desperately need this as it's designed for someone as morbidly obese as I am and will help me get the aerobic, LOW-IMPACT exercise I need to regain control of my weight and my life!

Guess that people really don't care to help.

It's close to the end of my attempt to raise donations for the NuStep T5xr and I have received *NO* donations. Guess that means there just isn't any interest in helping a person out. So, when the deadline ends, I'll just fold up the attempt.

And it's significantly CHEAPER than the T5xr! It is called the Elgin Cross Stepper and as you can see from the photo, it has the same arm-and-leg action that the NuStep has. The main difference I can see is that it doesn't have a swivel-around-to-get-on seat pedestal, but I don't think that is such a big problem. It is also rated at 600 pound user weight and it appears to give the same level of aerobic workout that the NuStep does.

So I think maybe I'll look into it. Still, at $3,195 plus shipping and taxes, it ain't cheap. Thus, I'm asking for you to consider donating or buying a BeBook or Kindle through my associates links.

Man, it was AWESOME inspirational! When Jerry lost 47.97% - almost all of which was done at home, and Helen lost 54.xx% to become the two winners... Think about it, these were two of the oldest 'biggest losers' they've had on the show.

Y'know, I asked whether I could be a contestant and they flat said no. I'm 51, weigh 570 pounds and just am not fit enough. After the scare they had with Jerry, I get the idea they aren't sure it's worth the risk. Still, if I can get an aerobics program started at home, I may be able to lose an equivalent amount of weight. For me, that means I could lose 250-285 pounds. The thought just boggles my mind!

Yep. I need a NuStep T5xr. Or I could get by with a Monark 837e. But a T5xr, as you can see from the photo, has both pedals for leg exercise and moving handgrips for exercising my upper body. The Monark, as with most recumbent exercycles, just exercises the legs.

So why am I blogging about this. Well, I'm super morbidly obese - I top the scales at 570 pounds (and this IS an improvement from six years ago when I weighed in at 630 pounds) and I need aerobic exercise to complement my weight-training. Over the last six years I've gotten my eating under control and am happy with a 1,600 calorie per day low-carb diet, but my weight loss has plateaued. Unfortunately, during the process, my joints have deteriorated to the point where a walking/jogging program is out of the question. That pretty much leaves swimming or some form of exercycling or elliptical trainer. And I've had several infections on my legs - to the point where the scarring leaves swim aerobics instructors say 'Not in MY pool!'

No problem, there's always deals on exercise bikes and whatnot, yes? No. Of the bikes and ellipticals out there, only two, the T5xr and the 837e, are rated for my weight. Most top out at 275 pounds - MAX! (Here's irony, to get massive weight loss, do aerobic exercise but to use most available pieces of equipment one already has to have gotten down to 250-275 pounds!)

Of course, the two machines I CAN use are both in the $2,500+ range - the Monark 837e runs $2,500 including shipping and the NuStep T5xr runs $5,500 plus shipping. (Who knew than adding a rotating seat and upper-body-workout arms was worth an additional $3,000???)

Yes, I've already checked out my local gyms - no go, they don't see the need for such specialized equipment. Yes, I've already asked Disability, they say that they'd LOVE to see me get one - but it's an 'elective' and not covered. Yes, I've asked numerous charitable organizations - they're not interested - they'd rather spend money on other programs.

So I'm setting up this blog to ask for donations.
